A top the newly designed St. Ann’s Warehouse theater is a 72’ steel sign. it is illuminated by state of the art LED lights hung beneath the entire length of the sign. The sign itself was fabricated using nearly 800’ of 1.5” x 3/16” angle steel. Each letter is an open frame box letter it is welded and powder coated matte black. The lights are hung beneath the entire length of the sign using (4) 18’ pieces of ⅜” angle steel. The Letter are individually mounted to the side of the building facing the new triangle shaped public space in Brooklyn Bridge Park.
On the Street side of the the newly designed St. Ann’s Warehouse theater is a Steel and glass enclosed neon sign spelling out the word theater. The sign enclosure was fabricated using ¾” x 3/16” angle steel and various types of ¼” glass and safety glass. The enclosure covers a ¼” steel backplate with the Neon letter and transformer mounted to it. The plate is attached to a 20’ x ¼” steel square tube which is attached to a 1” square plate that is mounted to cement. The sign was fabricated by welding the angle steel into open face box letters. All the glass for the letters were glazed by hand and There were two pieces of slumped glass used to form the curve on the R. The neon was hand fabricated using alternated types of glass and gas to create several different colors in one fused tube of glass.
